Translational Nephrology
RESEARCH GROUPS MISSION:
Our group is interested in translational research aiming to understand the involvement of inflammatory/immune and molecular mechanisms in renal diseases. For this purpose, our group conducts basic research (animal models of renal diseases) and clinical studies (e. g. nephrotic syndrome, chronic kidney disease, nephrolithiasis, hypercalciuria, renal transplantation and congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract). Other objective of this line of investigation is to search for inflammatory biomarkers of human diseases.
ANIMAL MODELS
- Nephrotic syndrome induced by Adriamycin
- Unilateral, ¾ and subtotal nephrectomy
- Renal ischemia/reperfusion injury
HUMAN DISEASES
- Nephrotic syndrome
- Chronic and acute glomerulopathies
- Chronic kidney disease
- Nephrolitiasis and hyperclaciuria
- Renal transplantation
- Congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract
