Laboratory of Experimental Oral Pathology
SPECIFIC RESEARCH WORK INCLUDES:
1 - Bone remodelling models with focuses on the links between chemokines/cytokines and bone cells activity: our research is based on molecular understanding of how alveolar bone loss is regulated in the context of infectious and inflammatory periodontal conditions, induced-mechanical loading and systemic diseases like arthritis and osteoporosis.
2 - Role of chemokines on oral carcinogenesis: this research is focused in the chemokine-mediated inflammatory cell infiltration into the tumor microenvironment and how it affects tumor progression. Studies involve specimens from clinical and experimental model of carcinogen-induced oral carcinoma.
